BOS Magazine Vol 1 : John Chavis Memorial Park

Our first magazine (then zine) was a slim yet powerful volume dedicated to John Chavis Memorial Park. This park has been a prominent gather place for the community since its creation in 1935. Known as the "Negro Park", Chavis Park was built with WPA support to enable the quiet segregation of Raleigh's first amusement park, Pullen Park.
